Unit 8: Indian Folktales (Part 2)
hello everyone.I am going to tell you a folktale that i had made it myself. It also has a moral in it too!'
The title of my story : The Bird Who Thought He Was Ugly
The characters in the story are: The Swan, The dull and ugly bird named Sam and the other ugly and dull birds.
Once upon a time, there was one dull and ugly bird who was black in colour. Its name is Sam.
When he was flying near a pond in the park, he notice a beautiful swan swimming gracefully in to water. The swan's feathers were white in colour. They looked shiny and smooth. Sam wanted the swan's feathers as he thought his feathers were ugly. Sam was green with envy. He secretly pluck the swan's feathers by flying past the swan and quickly pluck the swan's feathers. The swan did not felt any pain at all as the swan's feathers were very thick.
After that, Sam found a branch and sat on it. He was thinking how he would stick the swan's feathers onto his body. Finally, he thought of an idea. He used his spit to stick the feathers onto his own body. Then, he stood on the branch proudly to show-off his new feathers.
When the other ugly and dull birds saw his feathers, they think it was ugly as it was so untidy that they didn't like the feathers.
Sam was disappointed and decided that to be himself.
The moral of the story: Love how you are the way you are born, do not look at others and think that you are ugly. Everyone is born to be like that.
